Multi-layer technology
It is based on Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition of alternating inorganic and organic coatings on plastic substrates in a single-chamber process.
Performance
The coated plastic substrates show water permeation values below the sensitivity limit of standard MOCON instrument: (< 0.005 g/m2.day), and shows a similar behaviour to glass for over than a thousand hours in the accelerated (high temperature, high level of humidity) “Calcium corrosion test”.
- Adhesion test - excellent.
- Flexing - good.
- Temperature resistance – excellent: limited only by thermal resistance of the plastic film.

Flexible organic solar cells
Organic solar cell on flexible substrate:
We have demonstrated that shelf life of organic based solar cells can be extended from a few hours to more than 6000 hours using our flexible super-barrier encapsulating material. The device performs practically as encapsulated with glass.

  Organic solar cells made with 2 different materials and encapsulated
with Ultra-High-Barrier coated plastic film.
